Announcing the Intelligentsia Cup!

Posted: July 9, 2013 - 12:43pm

Humidity aside, this is a pretty exciting week in our home town of Chicago. With so many of the Intelli family biking to and from work each day, and more than a handful competitive racers on staff, we couldn’t be more pleased to be the title sponsors of this year’s Prairie State Cycling Series.

The races run in eight cities across Wisconsin and Illinois from July 12 – 21, and attract racers from across the country.

The Intelligentsia Cup will benefit World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit organization transforming individuals and their communities through The Power of Bicycles. The bikes are called Buffalo Bicycles and are built to be strong and reliable. One will soon be displayed in our newest coffeebar in Old Town.

Intelligentsia Coffee founder Doug Zell continued, "We are thrilled to be bringing some of the best pro and amateur riders from around the US and world to race around Chicago. We look forward showcasing what this great city has to offer and delivering some blazingly fast races that will captivate even the most discerning spectator. We are excited to see great coffee in the mix with bike racing, not just at the start or finish of a training ride, but as a genuine supporter of what promises to be a premier series, the Intelligentsia Cup, in the United States."

We’ll be posting photos on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so be sure to follow us and stay tuned. You can learn more about the races series here.
