Kurimi Ethiopia named a Good Food Award Finalist
Our Ethiopia coffees continue to impress us this year. The Yirgacheffe has been a favorite for many of our customers and staff since its launch in the summer. It's as vibrant as ever and recently scored in the high 90s by our QC department during our quality assurance tests.
Today however it was announced that our Western Ethiopia coffee, Kurimi is a finalist in the California region of the Good Food Awards, our second consecutive year as a finalist in that region.
Kurimi is our ode to the beauty and unparalleled complexity of Ethiopian coffee. Few others in the world offer the combination of dramatic intensity and operatic grace that are hallmarks of the best coffees from the country that gave birth to Arabica.
We couldn't be happier about this great news, a fantastic acknowledgment of the time and effort put in by the Shegole co-op from the Limu Union, one of the flagship groups in the TechnoServe project that aims to increase rural incomes. Although it was constituted in 2005 with a total membership of about 400 farmers, the last several years have seen it blossom considerably.
