MONADNOCK - MONADNOCK BARISTA OF THE MONTH

Todd Burbo is the Monadnock Barista of the Month for January/February 2008.  Todd holds the position of In-Store Trainer at Monadnock and has been with Intelligentsia for just over 2 years.

Todd first started drinking coffee in high school when he would hang out at Denny’s after playing the trumpet in his high school pep band.  When he moved to Chicago from Michigan, Todd would visit Intelligentsia as a customer.  Within months, Todd fell in love with the delicate balance and sweet complexity of a shot of espresso.   Soon he applied to work at the store and the rest is history.

Todd’s favorite drink to make is anything with latte art.  From the small intricate espresso macchiato to a nice 12 ounce latte, Todd enjoys showing off for the customers.

In his spare time, Todd likes listening to music, “mostly smooth jazz and new country”, reading, and photography.  On the weekends he likes to drink Irish whiskey and eat Italian food.

About the Barista craft, Todd enjoys the artistic aspect it brings.  He can be creative when pouring latte art, and now as In-Store Trainer, can share his creativity and insight with others.
