MONADNOCK - MONADNOCK BARISTA OF THE MONTH

The Monadnock Barista of the Month for March/April is Harley Young.  Harley has been a Barista for a combined total of two years.  He started out working at a Border’s café in Colorado and then in Chicago, until he ended up at Monadnock thanks to his friend Charles (previous Barista of the Month).  

Harley’s favorite drink to make is a double macchiato.  The macchiato is, “efficient, minimal, and beautiful yet it showcases the gamut of skills required by a Barista.”

Harley runs a small art space from his house (http://knockknockgallery.wordpress.com).  In his spare time, he makes art (when he can), enjoys the people he loves, obsesses over cycling and his Volvo 240, and seeks out novel music.  He is also in the process of acquiring his Masters in elementary education.

About being a Barista at Monadnock, Harley says, “the things that I believe to be the greatest assets of my job at Intelligentsia are the development of a proprietary skill-set and the specialization of knowledge associated with it, along with the unique social aspect of the Monadnock store and its regulars.”
