Organic Jasmine Peach

An authentic spring-picked white tea from southern China scented with jasmine blossoms. The delicate, refreshing character of this tea is enhanced with the essence of peaches.

Organic Emerald Spring

The nutty, sweet flavor of Organic Emerald Spring is a perfect introduction for novice green tea drinkers. Emerald Spring is mildly vegetal without the strong grassy or oceanic notes often associated with some green teas. The nuttiness is complimented by a rich, buttery body that further accentuates the more delicate flavors.

Organic Moroccan Mint

Our Organic Moroccan Mint has a potent menthol quality that is further accentuated with hints of jasmine flower and pan-fired green tea. The cooling sensation and delicate body combine to create an extremely refreshing tea that can be enhanced with a touch of sugar or honey.

Organic Raspberry Green Tea

China green tea blended with real raspberry to provide a cup with a natural sweetness and slightly tart finish. The scarlet color and bright raspberry flavor are equally pleasing to the eye and palate.

Sencha

Classic bittersweet lightly steamed green tea from Shizouka, Japan, with a grassy aroma and fruity flavor. The bright green infusion color, depth of flavor and rich satisfying mouthfeel contribute to the superior quality of our Sencha.

Genmaicha

A traditional blend of sencha from Shizouka, Japan combined with toasted brown rice. Light in body with a savory green tea flavor and notes of toasted rice and popcorn. Served cold, Genmaicha makes an extremely refreshing alternative to black iced teas.

Organic Kukicha

Japanese twig tea from Kagoshima, made from first-flush sencha leaf and stem. The nutty and citrus flavors intermingle within a rich umami body that is warm and embracing. Also good for making a refreshing cold brewed tea.

Bao Zhong

Bao Zhong is a lightly oxidized oolong with a potent aroma reminiscent of lilac and lily. This tea is so floral that it might be mistaken for a scented tea. Hidden amongst the bright flowery characteristics are notes of honey, pear, and melon. The finish, while floral, yields to a fresh green tea flavor.

Iron Goddess of Mercy

Iron Goddess of Mercy is loaded with subtle flavors and nuance. The medium oxidation level combined with the high growing elevation produces a floral and fruity cup, with hints of the roasting process. The firing process reduces the astringency without damaging the long-lingering floral finish. Each person who tastes this tea is bound to taste something unique.

Organic Orchid Oolong

Organic Orchid Oolong has a honeysuckle sweetness and a nuanced fruit flavor that nestles itself beneath the base flavors of toasted rice and sweet tobacco. The aroma yields hints of grain, roasted almonds, and wildflower. The crisp lingering finish is due to the high mineral content of the rocky mountain soil.

Four Seasons Spring

This popular oolong varietal from Nantou, Taiwan was lightly baked to accentuate the intrinsic flavors in the leaf, not the baking process. The fruity flavor is reminiscent of peach and apricot accentuated by wildflower blossoms. Steeping multiple times will yield many layers of complexity and nuance that a deeper roast can't offer.

Black Teas

Organic Earl Grey

Our version of the traditional English favorite features real bergamot oil, matched with a full-bodied Yunnan black tea to produce an intense floral citrus flavor with a smooth, lingering finish.

Organic English Breakfast

The slightly spicy malty character of our Organic English Breakfast gives way to sweet dried fruit flavors and delicate notes of spice. The body rich and smooth crating a cup with layers of depth not often found in breakfast teas. The sugary finish is slightly citric with a persistent linger flavor of toasted malt.

Organic Keemun Mao Feng

Keemun Mao Feng is a real eye opener. The flavor is very deep and complex. It took me several tastings to really understand its many intricacies. Every time I taste it, it reveals new wrinkles. The powerful aroma foreshadows the sugar sweet flavor that has delicate notes of violet, and honey. Keemun has it all; it’s spicy, chocolaty, and has fruity and floral flavors that are layered amongst the base of pine and malt. The body reminds of me a Darjeeling without any real sharp edges.

Organic 2nd Flush Darjeeling

High elevation Indian black tea produced at a biodynamic garden located in the Indian state of Darjeeling tucked amongst the Himalayan foothills. The delicate flavor, similar to an oolong tea, is both fruity and floral with hints of muscatel grape and wild flowers.

Organic Golden Needles

Only the buds from the famed ancient Da Yeh Yunnan varietal are used to produced this fine black tea. The smooth infusion yields flavors of baked yam, chocolate, and spice. The syrupy body and potent aroma help to make this one of the finest black teas in the world.

Organic Tanzania

A high elevation black tea from Tanzania with a brisk character and light body. The complex flavor is sweet and fruity with complimentary, subtle floral notes. Organic Tanzania is a great afternoon tea from an unusual origin.

Chai Tea Concentrate

After serving a chai concentrate in our coffeebars for many years, we thought that we could create something better, something more authentic. Many chai concentrates are just too sweet, and Doug Palas, Intelligentsia's Tea Buyer, wanted to create something that struck just the right balance between sweet and spicy. We think that he found the right place, and after drinking a hot chai latte or an iced chai, we know that you are bound to agree. Our chai is a blend of black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, clove and ginger. It’s the place where spicy and sweet meet in perfect balance.

Organic rooibos and honeybush from South Africa combine to create a sweet caffeine-free alternative to black tea. This African red tea is named as a tribute to the national bird of South Africa.

Reserve Teas

Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe)

Our reserve grade “cliff tea” is grown in the Wuyi Mountains, located in Fujian, China. The first infusion of this tea has an earthy, roasted quality layered with delicate notes of stone fruit and magnolia. In subsequent infusions, the roasty flavors diminish and the fruit notes become more prominent with undertones of sandalwood and a complex, lingering, floral aroma.

Golden Phoenix Oolong

A reserve grade oolong tea with a pleasant honey orchid aroma. The flavor is both sweet and lingering while possessing a silky body. Flavors of peach, apricot, and honey are accented by intense floral notes. This tea should be infused numerous times to reveal its unique and subtle characteristics.

High Mountain Oolong

Grown on one of the highest elevation gardens on Lin Xi Mountain in Taiwan, this lightly oxidized oolong is prized for its rich body and extremely floral flavors. Notes of evergreen and wildflower pollen persist on the tongue long after drinking this amazingly complex tea. Subsequent infusions will unravel the large hand rolled leaves, yielding subtle fruit flavors

Hong Yue (Red Jade)

This small handmade batch of Hong Yue from Nantou, Taiwan has outstanding strength and structure. The loosely rolled leaves quickly stain the water with a deep red color. The flavor has amazing clarity; notes of wintergreen, sugar date, European hops, and toasted wheat produce a stunnning level of complexity and depth.

A lush and complex blend of Chinese Oolong, hibiscus, and natural plum extracts with just a touch of ginger for zip and sparkle. This blend is dense, juicy and soft, with loads of fruit and an invigorating snap.

King Crimson

Our stalwart caffeine-free herbal blend seamlessly blends tart with sweet to create succulent, fruity refreshment. Dried cranberries, elderberries, and black currant provide a dazzling scarlet hue and luscious berry flavor notes.

Moroccan Mint

Keeping with tradition, this blend of Chinese green tea, cured mint leaves and a touch of natural lemon flavor is smooth, nutty, and rounded with invigorating citrus and an undeniably soothing, ethereal presence.

The Classic

Our Classic is a malty, Indian black tea accentuated with just a touch of bergamot oil, an essential oil extracted from a Sicilian citrus fruit with a delicate, flowery, lemon flavor. This brisk blend is a summer delight and the epitome of iced tea: full of character, sweet, crisp, and refreshing.

The Standard

We have received many requests for this tea and we are happy to oblige. An exquisite black tea that creates an iced tea better than the one you remember. Reflecting a deep, rich flavor but never crossing into astringency, this tea is an all-day sipper when the mercury rises.

Tropicalia

A blend of crisp Indian black tea with natural passion fruit and berry extracts. A slightly tart and fruity base is rounded by the gentle and sweet flavor of dried marigold and blue flower. A great alternative to traditional black iced tea blends.
