At Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea, we strive to send you the finest and freshest coffee possible.

If you place an order before midnight Sunday-Thursday (Central Standard Time) your coffee will be roasted, packed and shipped the next day. Orders placed Friday & Saturday will be roasted, packed, and shipped on Monday.

Due to this demanding schedule, we are not capable of adding additional items onto an order that is currently in production. If you have already submitted an order and would like additional items, a separate order will need to be placed.

New UPS Ground service shipping calculator

Depending where you are in the USA, we will be using the following increments to calculate a UPS Ground FLAT RATE based on the total weight of your order. This means, for example, that the cost of shipping will be the same up to 3 pounds worth of coffee, tea, or merchandise.

1/2lb – 3lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
4lbs – 5lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
6lbs – 10lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
11lbs – 15lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
16lbs – 20lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
21lbs – 25lbs – Flat rate depending on locale
26lbs – 30lbs – Flat rate depending on locale

Our goal has always been to provide you with the best service possible and as rates have increased for us over the last four years, we have remained steadfast in not raising our UPS shipping rates. We are currently working on the integration of the US Postal Service as an option for launch in 2008 to give you your choice of preferred carrier.

As of 1/30/2008 we will be using the US Postal Service - Priority as our only method of shipping to Canada. We will charge you what USPS charges us- approx $15 - $25 USD depending on pounds ordered and locale.

Independence Day - July 4, 2008
Labor Day - September 1, 2008
Thanksgiving Day - November 27, 2008
Day after Thanksgiving - November 28, 2008
Christmas Day - December 25, 2008
New Year's Eve - December 31, 2008
New Year's Day - January 1, 2009

Below is a map with standard UPS Ground shipping times for shipments out of Chicago. These are standard ground delivery times, not guaranteed times. If you need a guaranteed time, please select 2 Day Air, or Next Day delivery.

Please Note: UPS does not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays, please choose your shipping options accordingly.

Due to our demanding schedule, once an order is placed we are not able to hold that order for a date other than what is specified on the above Production Schedule.

Micro-Lots and Reserve Coffees

Our Reserve coffees (Cup of Excellence, Micro-Lots, Best of and other competition coffees) are only roasted on Mondays.

ANY ORDER CONTAINING THESE COFFEES WILL BE DELAYED UNTIL THE NEXT AVAILABLE MONDAY. If you would like to purchase other coffees, but do not wish to  have your entire order delayed, please place separate orders.
